At Selina Ice Cream Company, is not just about the traditional Roman gelato experience. Enter the world of irresistible creativity, pop and fun with sweet treats: cheesecakes, brownies, bubble waffles, cakes, ice cream cookies, ice cream bars, macarons, waffle pops, donuts, milkshakes and more, just like a classic American bakery. There are different shapes, colours and sizes to choose from where kids and adults can indulge on their sweet tooth.
Recently opened, Selina was born in the Montesacro district of Rome from the idea of its close-knit team of friends and proprietors of nearby Vintro Bar & Bites. Luca Masala, Selina’s project manager, Mattia Mancini, Valentina Manuelli, Marzia Margherita and Flavio Zianna decided to undertake this new adventure after their travels and experiences in the world of gastronomy.
The days at Selina begin at 12:00 and continues non-stop with different breaks during the day until after dinner, even after midnight or even later in the middle of summer because gelato is always a welcome part of the Roman life. The place is designed for comfort and relaxation with scattered chairs, tables and sofas inside and in the 30 square meter garden of the ice cream shop.
In charge of the ice cream laboratory is gelato maker Pierpaolo Santi who prepares the gelato only from well-selected high quality raw materials. Among some of the twenty flavours are Apple Pie, Oreos, Cheesecake, Snickers, Blueberry Brownies, Wild Strawberry, Passion Fruit, Dark Single Origin Venezuelan Chocolate, PGI Piedmont Hazelnut, Raspberry and Pistachios. All fruit flavours are made with real fruits, 100% vegan without milk or animal-derived ingredients.
Selina’s strong point is their interpretation of soft ice cream such as Tahitian Yogurt and Vanilla Black for surprising black experience to be enjoyed with a cone or cup. The bubble waffles are freshly prepared while you choose your own garnish.
