La Bonne Bouteille: Wine and Stunning Lake Views in Castel Gandolfo

Set in the picturesque town of Castel Gandolfo in the Castelli Romani, La Bonne Bouteille offers more than just wine - it’s a gateway to the flavors and beauty of the region. Owned by Martina Buonocore with the support of her father, Stefano Buonocore, this charming wine bar boasts a prime vantage point overlooking Lago di Albano and the hillside terrain. Inside, a large window perfectly frames the volcanic lake, while the open-air terrace is designed for intimate gatherings, featuring two-seater sofas ideally arranged for enjoying both the view and good company over a glass of wine.

La Bonne Bouteille opened in June 2024, breathing fresh life into a historic 1910 building that once housed a tea room. Since then, it’s quickly become a favorite for both locals and visitors, offering an intriguing blend of character and flavor. The space pops with its blue walls and mustard yellow seating, setting a lively tone that feels both intimate and relaxed. Known for its laid-back vibe, La Bonne Bouteille is a great place to meet friends, linger over thoughtfully chosen wines, and take in the lake views.

Martina’s passion for wine was inspired by her father, Stefano, whose commitment to the craft spans over three decades. In 1999, Stefano became a certified sommelier with the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS), marking the start of his formal journey in the world of wine. He later led the AIS Fiumicino-Ostia delegation from 2014 to 2019, further honing his expertise and deepening his connection to the wine community.
