Beviamoci Sud 2024: A Showcase of Southern Italian Wines in Rome

The sixth edition of Beviamoci Sud Roma, the premier event dedicated to promoting and showcasing the wines of Southern Italy, will be held from December 7th to 9th, 2024, at Hotel Palatino in Rome, just steps from the Colosseum.

Organized by Riserva Grande and Andrea Petrini (wine blogger at Percorsi di Vino), with the technical expertise of journalist and gastronome Luciano Pignataro, the event caters to both wine professionals and enthusiasts. This year’s edition features over 50 carefully selected winemakers presenting a diverse range of Southern Italian wines. For the first time, producers will offer wines in gift-ready packaging, perfect for the holiday season.

On December 7th and 8th, attendees can enjoy tastings at the winemakers' tables and participate in limited-capacity masterclasses available by reservation.

“This year,” says Luciano Pignataro, “we’ve expanded our seminars with four unmissable sessions. Participants will explore the nuances of Apulian Nero di Troia, taste the unique flavors of Castelli Romani, celebrate the 20th anniversary of Rocca del Principe with a vertical tasting, and, thanks to Movimento Turismo della Sardegna, discover rare wines from Sardinia. Events like this are essential for highlighting Southern Italy’s wines, which are now shining on the international stage thanks to producers who respect tradition while embracing innovation. Beviamoci Sud Roma is the perfect opportunity to deepen your knowledge and taste some of the region’s most iconic labels, especially from lesser-known wineries.”

On December 9th, the event will be exclusively open to journalists and Ho.Re.Ca professionals. This day will include the Ambassadors of Beviamoci Sud Roma awards, recognizing establishments with outstanding Southern Italian wine lists, and the Excellences of Beviamoci Sud Roma awards, which honor the best wines presented at the event, as chosen by a jury chaired by Pignataro.
