Bosco del Merlo's Life in Rosé: A Health and Wellness Project
The Paladin family, deeply rooted in the Veneto region since 1962, has extended its passion for sustainable viticulture into a heartfelt social cause through Bosco del Merlo’s Life in Rosé initiative. Supporting LILT (Lega Italiana Lotta ai Tumori) in its Pink Ribbon campaign, Bosco del Merlo dedicates each October to raising awareness for cancer prevention and the benefits of a balanced, health-focused lifestyle. This year, the family-owned winery has turned Thursdays into “Wellness Thursdays,” a new chapter in the Life in Rosé project, combining events centered on self-care, wellness, and prevention throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Life in Rosé: Commitment to Health and Wellness
Throughout October, Bosco del Merlo headquarters in Annone Veneto hosted Wellness Thursdays, a series of events led by experts in nutrition, mindfulness, and creative expression, with proceeds benefiting LILT’s Treviso branch. Kicking off on October 3 with the Healthy Gourmet workshop by nutritionist Dr. Marta Santin, attendees learned about mindful eating, followed by a live cooking demonstration from Chef Davide Larise on health-oriented meals. The following week, Yoga & Mindfulness sessions led by Margherita Trevisan introduced mindfulness techniques and breathwork, during which the Paladin family presented their annual donation to LILT Treviso, now totaling over €35,000. The final session on October 17 was an Art & Journaling workshop with artist Debora Bena, fostering creativity through painting and self-expression.
Each event concluded with a cellar tour and tastings of local cheeses and cold cuts paired with Bosco del Merlo’s Life in Rosé wines, Prosecco Rosé DOC and Pinot Grigio Rosé Venezia DOC, embodying the brand's signature balance and vibrancy. Additionally, on October 3 and 10, LILT’s mobile camper was stationed onsite, providing resources on cancer prevention. Throughout the month, Bosco del Merlo welcomed women visiting the winery with a complimentary glass of rosé to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The #LifeinRosé initiative embodies Casa Paladin’s dedication to wellness, community, and self-care, closely aligning with their 4V Project’s mission of Vita (Life). A portion of proceeds from Bosco del Merlo’s rosé wines was donated to breast cancer prevention programs, supporting values that have been central to Casa Paladin’s philosophy for over sixty years. “Prevention is important,” say Francesca and Martina Paladin, third-generation leaders of Bosco del Merlo, “but a healthy lifestyle is equally essential. That’s why we’re passionate about promoting these events focused on balanced nutrition, movement, meditation, and creativity, taking care of both body and mind is fundamental.”
The Rosé Wines of Bosco del Merlo
Bosco del Merlo Prosecco Rosé DOC Millesimato Brut 2023
Bosco del Merlo’s Prosecco Rosé DOC, Millesimato Brut is crafted from 85% Glera and 15% Pinot Noir, vinified to achieve vibrant color and aromatic depth. The Pinot Noir, harvested early to capture fresh, fruity notes, undergoes brief maceration and stainless steel refinement, while Glera is softly pressed and fermented at a cool 15°C to enhance its fruity freshness. Sparkling through the Charmat method, this Prosecco Rosé develops over 60 days, resulting in a bright pink wine with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose is fresh, fruity, and floral, with inviting notes of crisp pear, apple, and pomegranate. On the palate, the wine bursts with the same fresh, fruity character, balanced by a subtle layer of minerality. The full yet refreshing body and pleasant, lingering finish showcase pear, pomegranate, and lychee, reflecting the wine’s quality and elegance. This sparkling rosé is an authentic expression of its terroir, delivering a refined taste of the region’s excellence in rosé winemaking.
Pinot Grigio Rosé Venezia DOC 2023
This Pinot Grigio Rosé Venezia DOC is crafted from sunlit, ventilated vineyard sites, ensuring ripe, healthy grapes. Harvested in two stages to balance acidity, aromatics, and sugar, each selection undergoes cryo-maceration, where the skins and must are kept at low temperatures to achieve a delicate, coppery-pink color. After gentle pressing and a few months of aging in stainless steel, the two parts are blended, resulting with a color between copper, salmon, and pink. On the nose, it offers a pleasant crispness with aromas of pears, strawberries, and a field of spring flowers. The palate is marked by great balance and elegance, with refreshing minerality and a persistent, harmonious finish.
