Nebbiolo nel Cuore XI: A Resounding Success in Rome for the King of Wines

The 11th edition of Nebbiolo nel Cuore, organized by Riserva Grande, concluded just days ago, further solidifying its status as a premier event for lovers of Nebbiolo, often referred to as the "king of wines and the wine of kings." Held on January 12 and 13, 2025, at the Grand Hotel Palatino in Rome, the event drew over 800 participants, exceeding expectations with its vibrant turnout and enthusiastic reception.

The event’s blend of tasting booths and engaging masterclasses attracted a diverse audience, ranging from wine enthusiasts to professionals in the Ho.re.ca. sector and members of the media. Monday, January 13, was exclusively dedicated to industry professionals, offering a focused platform for exploring Nebbiolo’s finest expressions.

Reflecting on the event’s success, Marco Cum, founder of Riserva Grande and creator of Nebbiolo nel Cuore, shared:

This year’s masterclasses stood out as a highlight of the event, drawing significant attention from industry professionals and wine enthusiasts alike. These thoughtfully curated sessions offered an exceptional opportunity to delve into the depth and complexity of Nebbiolo and other regional wines, showcasing the expertise of producers and the rich heritage behind their craft. The masterclasses brought depth and nuance to the event, immersing attendees in the artistry of winemaking. From the timeless elegance of Nebbiolo to the rising prominence of Timorasso, each session underscored the profound heritage and innovative spirit of Italian viticulture.

Masterclass Topics and Wines Tasted

The Coup De Coeur in Tasting

Led by Michele Panno, this comparative tasting highlighted wines that earned top honors in the Il Nebbiolo guide. Each wine embodied excellence, offering participants a deeper understanding of Nebbiolo’s finest expressions.

Vertical and Parallel Tasting of Barbarescos from Cantina Renato Fenocchio

Guided by Marco Cum and Milva Fenocchio, this session provided a rare exploration of Barbaresco vintages, showcasing the distinct characteristics of each vineyard and year.

Timorasso: The White Revolution of the Tortonesi Hills

This masterclass, presented by Saula Giusto and Gian Paolo Repetto, President of the Tortonesi Hills, celebrated the versatility and aging potential of Timorasso. The session highlighted the varietal’s evolution over time, offering a rich tasting experience.
